PV Gas Trade Union sets out goals for coming years

The trade union of the PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas) recently held a preliminary conference to review its activities for the 2017-2022 mid-term period and set out tasks and directions for the remaining half of its term.

The corporation’s trade union annually proposes ideas and solutions to improve production and business activities. Since 2017, 454 initiatives have been applied to production, yielding benefits worth more than VND1.2 trillion. The trade union has been an active participant in building the corporate culture of PV GAS. It has also coordinated with local authorities and other organizations to improve working conditions and ensured beneficial policies for company employees.

Consequently, the trade union has been honored by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor for its activities, which not only helped unite and support employees but also contributed to the corporation’s achievements in exceeding its assigned production and business plans.

At the conference, trade union representatives of PV Gas member units also discussed lessons and shared experience relating to workers’ occupational safety and health and to building a corporate culture. Participants also proposed solutions for the smooth running of the trade union’s operations, completing the tasks for the 2020-2022 period and the third term.

Activities approved for the 2020-2022 period include continued innovation of trade union activities; staff training and development; strengthening solidarity among workers and shaping professional working methods and corporate culture; striving to exceed the corporation’s annual production and business plans; continuing to contribute ideas and initiatives; and effectively implementing thrift policies. In this coming term, the PV GAS Trade Union strives to achieve the “Excellent Trade Union” title with over 600 initiatives applied and effectively implemented in production and business activities.

The trade union of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group presented an award to the PV GAS trade union and certificates of merit to four trade union chapters of PV GAS units, including PetroVietnam Gas Vung Tau Processing Company, PetroVietnam Gas South East Transmission Company, PetroVietnam Gas Ca Mau Company, and Nam Con Son Pipelines Company. It also honored dozens of trade union individuals and groups for their achievements.

PV Gas Trade Union also presented awards for achievements in deploying key projects, such as the adjusted Nam Con Son 2 project, the Golden Star - Dai Nguyet project and the one million-tonne Thi Vai LNG warehouse project. Concluding the event, the Executive Board of the PV Gas Trade Union called on its trade union members to promote the tradition of solidarity to successfully carry out resolutions on trade union activities, build strong trade union organizations, and contribute to the sustainable development of the corporation in particular and the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group in general.
