Most local firms optimistic about production in second half
Up to 91.9% of enterprises are optimistic that in the second half of 2019, production volume will increase or see stable growth compared with the first six months of the year, according to the General Statistics Office of Vietnam.
Of the total, 58.6% of firms forecast an increase in production, while 33.3% predicted that production volume growth will remain unchanged against the first half of the year, according to Vietnam News Agency.
Only 8.1% of firms stated that the production volume will fall in the second half of 2019.
Besides this, 89.4% of firms active in the processing and manufacturing fields predicted that the production volume will rise or stay stable in the third quarter versus the previous quarter.
Among firms predicting the growth of production in the second half of the year, foreign-invested enterprises were the most optimistic over the rise and stability of production at 93.1%, followed by non-State-owned firms and State-run firms at 91.6% and 90.6%, respectively.
Regarding production costs, 90.7% of firms forecast an uptick or stagnation in the third quarter compared with costs in the second quarter.
Some 89.7% of enterprises were optimistic over the number of new orders anticipated this quarter versus the second quarter. 91.9% of firms expected to see this number grow or remain stable in the second half of the year versus the first half.
In particular, electronics, computers, clothing, rubber and plastics and medicine will see a rise in new orders in the second half of 2019.
