Samsung smartphones recalled on battery flaw
The local subsidiary of Thai Samsung Electronics announced yesterday that it has temporarily halted sales of the Galaxy Note 7 in Cambodia and will replace the models it already sold following the discovery of defective battery cells in some of the phones.
The announcement comes after the South Korean electronics giant announced a global recall of the smartphone handsets in response to scattered reports in the US and South Korea of some phones exploding during charging.
Samsung said it has confirmed 35 cases out of 2.5 million Galaxy Note 7s sold worldwide.
