Prices fall at the pump as new fuel caps set

The government lowered the price ceiling on retail fuel products across the board in its latest scheduled revision, setting new price caps effective August 12 to 21, the Ministry of Commerce announced yesterday.

Premium prices fell to 3,200 riel per litre and regular petrol will be sold at 3,150 riel per litre, representing a 100 and 50 riel per litre decrease, respectively, from the previous revision.

Diesel saw the largest price change, falling to 2,900 riel per litre, down from 3,050 riel. The ministry adjusts the fuel price caps every 10 days to respond to changes in global oil prices.

The latest reductions come after Brent crude oil traded at $43.8 yesterday, posting its lowest price in a week.
