Insurance company plans to stand by Lao people

Well known for its major non-life insurance firm, Dhipaya Insurance Company has reaffirmed its commitment to continue to support more schools in Laos, especially in the rural areas, as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.

The ongoing support is part of the company's key message: ‘Today we enter Laos and we hope to gain the trust of the Lao people'. The company aims to give rural children the chance to have a better educational environment.

The company plans to provide support to improve school environments, buy stationery and offer scholarships, as well as buy sports equipment.

The company's Managing Director Mr Boonchai Boonyanurak spoke about their plans to help Lao schools when giving an interview to Vientiane Times on Tuesday.

Mr Boonchai said the firm decided to expand its support after making a donation to the primary school in Nathong village, Hinheup district, Vientiane province.

“This was the first school to be supported by our company. We are very happy to be part of creating a better educational environment for children here,” he said.

The company's employees visited the school and their creative flourishes there were valued at over 21 million kip.

Mr Boonchai said he believed that improving schools would make children happy and allow future generations of Lao students to enjoy better standards of education.

He strongly believes that many rural children are in need of more support, especially better equipped schools, even though they have received assistance from the company.

He said the company's passion is sharing with the local community and showing their love for Laos and how well they have planned for their operations along with the donation plan in the near future.

Mr Boonchai explained that the company has set a goal to support at least four or five schools a year.

Referring to other activities organised by the firm, the company recently organised a trip to Bangkok, Thailand. The trip was led by Mr Boonchai and the company's senior officials for customers who had purchased a high-value car insurance policy with the company.

Mr Boonchai and his group had a good time exploring beautiful white sand beaches with blue water and ate fresh seafood in Trang province. They also dined out on a boat on the Chao Phraya River and went shopping.

The group took plenty of photos so they had lasting memories of the occasion, with swimming and boat trips to explore nearby islands being their favourite activities.

Dhipaya is the first insurance company from Thailand to operate in Laos in 2014 and the company is keen to enhance the provision of knowledge and understanding to employees for the benefit of its customers.

The company considers insurance and life insurance as important components of human development and the sustainable development of Laos.

The Dhipaya Insurance Company office is on the 5th floor of the Kolao (Alounmai) Building on 23 Singha Road in Nongbone village, Xaysettha district, Vientiane.
