Savan Logistics launches its new facility in Savan Seno SEZ

Savan Logistics Co., Ltd off icially launched its logistics park at Savan Park within Savan Seno Special Economic Zone (Savan Seno SEZ) in Savannakhet province yesterday.

The grand opening ceremony of the logistics park was attended by provincial Governor Dr Souphan Keomixay, Minister of Public Works and Transport Dr Bounchanh Sinthavong, Deputy Minister and Vice President and Head of the Lao National Committee for Special Economic Zones Secretariat, Ms Bouatha Khattiya, and Managing Director of Savan Logistics Co., Ltd Mr Daovone Phachanthavong.

Governor of the Savan Seno SEZ Mr Bouakham Sisoulath said that advanced logistics systems have very important roles in the supply chain of raw materials and products in every production line of every business operation these days.

The advanced logistics are able to distribute goods rapidly and on time, which is indispensible for all developing countries including Laos, Mr Bouakham said.

Proper logistics systems will reduce costs, investment capital, save time and boost national economic activity dramatically, he stressed.

“As was previously mentioned, we are extremely appreciative of the establishment of this Land Port-ICD to facilitate import-export and distribute goods connecting with several ports,” he added.

“I believe that this logistics service will lower transportation costs. The establishment of this logistics park will also directly contribute to social and economic development, in Savannakhet province as well as Laos as a whole.”

Mr Bouakham noted that the park is a model for advanced logistics developm ent in Laos and that moreover will represent a positive image to gain more potential investment, not only nationally but also for international companies.

Chief Operating Manager of Savan Logistics Mr Jean Pierre Grzelczyk explained that to establish a logistics park, they first found the best location at S avan park because the infrastructure was ready.

He noted that the Savan Seno Zone was able to attract worldwide companies like Toyota Boshoku Corporation, Essilor International, Celestica Inc., Aerowork, KP Beau Lao, Kotani, Cevelux, Urai Thai and others.

The company received considerable cooperation from Savan Pacifica, the developer of Savan Park and full support from the central and provincial governments and SEZ authorities.

Savan Logistics Co., Ltd are qualified to be a authorised agent and the shipping lines will issue bills of lading at the logistics park. The goods will go on time from Savannakhet to final destinations around the world.

The company has invested in the latest technologies to manage Inland Container Data Management System (ICDMS) hardware and software so they can track the positioning of any container.

Mr Grzelcz yk said with the Lao connection to the world everything should go qucikly with e-commerce, electronic documents, sealed containers and all processes to facilitate international freight.

“For our services we will provide storage containers, lift on and life off operations, switching trucks, less than container load (LCL), full container load (FCL), as well as repair and maintenance to containers.”

“With our LCL services we can send 1kg to 25 tonnes from our logistics park to ICD Guangzhou China, Hanoi, Bangkok, Kuala Lumper, Singapore and from those locations to here.”

“Today Laos is moving into a new era for logistics systems. Savan logistics has connected land locked Laos to become a land link,” Mr Grzelczyk said.
