CAMCE unveils its project's stores

The Vientiane New World (VNW) developer, CAMCE Investment (Lao) Co., Ltd., officially opened its project's sto res in Vientiane on Tuesday in preparation for the Asean Economic Community.

VNW is a real estate project of CAMCE and the Krittaphon Group and is situated on the Mekong riverbank near Chao Anouvong Park. It is an excellent location and is attractive to both investors and tourists.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, President of CAMCE Investment (Lao) Co., Ltd., Mr Zhao Lizhi, said the VNW pro ject covers 42 hectares and consists of shops, a walking street, shopping mall, the ASEM Villas, a five star hotel and apartments.

Vientiane's economy is developing rapidly and the quality of life in the capital has much impro ved, attracting investors to the capital.

Mr Zhao Lizhi, who is also Vice President of China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd., said CAMCE has been doing business in Laos since 1996. Over the past 19 years, the company has cooperated with the L ao government and Lao integrated enterprises to contribute to socio-economic developments here.

The shops in the walking street have been designed in Lao architectural style mixed with modern designs. There are 22 buildings each having two or three floors. There are 100 shops altogether.

The design of the walking street is very attractive and has a good view of the Mekong River. It also has restaurants, a beauty salon, a spa, bars and shopping.

Vientiane has received a lot of support and cooperation from the Chinese government by encouraging companies to invest in many projects in Laos, according to the Vice Mayor of Vientiane, Mr Keophilavanh Aphaylath.

The projects and business operations carried out by Chinese investors is a contribution to social and economic development in Vientiane.

CAMCE had earlier been granted a concession in the Donchan area to build 50 ASEM Villas, which was the first phase of the Vientiane New World project. Total investment in the Vientiane New World Project is about 4.8 trillion kip (US$600 million).

The ASEM Villas were built to accommodate high-level delegates attending the 9th ASEM Summit in Vientiane.

CAMCE Investment (Lao) Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of a strong Chinese developer known as China CAMC Engineering Co., Ltd., which is one of the Top 500 Global Enterprises.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Vientiane Mayor Dr Sinlavong Khoutphaythoun and Chinese Ambassador to Laos Mr Guan Huabing.
