Vientiane Expo 2015 to show outstanding goods

The first Vientiane Expo 2015 will be held at Lao-ITECC in Vientiane from November 30 to December 6 to promote the outstanding business units of Laos and international imported products.

Minister of Industry and Commerce Ms Khemmani Pholsena sp oke at a press conference in Vientiane yesterday saying that the event will also mark the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Lao National Day.

“This will be the first Vientiane Expo to showcase the outstanding national and regional products along with marking the 40th anniversary of the Lao PDR,” she said.

The event will also feature variations of local products that play significant roles in the socio-economic development of Laos.

It will also be a platform for local and region al businesses and entrepreneurs to build business connections and business-matching.

It is expected that more than 600 booths from over 400 companies from Laos and other countries will display their products at the event.

A special highlight of the event in addition to the featuring of a wide range of Lao products and some goods from neighbouring countries will be the presentation of certificates of congratulation to the businesspeople who have been contributing to the socio-economic development of the country over the past four decades.

Foodstuffs, agricultural products, wooden furniture, interior décor items, gems and jewellery will also be on display at the event.

Handicraft products, consum er goods and electronic devices will be on sale at the expo. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce expects to see more than 100,000 visitors during the fair.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr Saleumxay Kommasith, senior government officials, foreign diplomats and local busine ss communities were invited to the press conference.
