Work begins on marine tourism area in Binh Thuan

Work on a VND2.6 trillion (US$121.5 million) marine tourism urban area in the central Binh Thuan province began last Saturday.

The Phan Thiet marine tourism urban complex, an investment by the Rang Dong Group, covers 62 hectares of land in the Phu Thuy ward, Phan Thiet City.

Expected to be completed in six years, the complex includes villas, buildings, parks, lakes and recreational wards. It is designed to accommodate up to 6,000 residents and 4,000 visitors.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice Chairman of the provincial People's Committee Nguyen Ngoc said Binh Thuan aims to become one of the chief national tourist destinations, with Phan Thiet being a city for tourists.

The project will help improve local infrastructure facilities and the traffic system, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
