Shares extend gains, but liquidity remains low
Shares extended gains this morning, but liquidity remained low on the two markets.
On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added 0.56 per cent to close at 540.87 points, as the gainers outnumbered the losers by 125 to 56.
Blue chips again provided the market momentum, as shown by a 0.45 per cent increase to reach 592.26 points.
The market volume was low at 35.3 million shares, worth VND589 billion ($27.5 million).
Seven stocks saw the trading of more than one million shares this morning. Ocean Group (OGC) and Tan Tao Investment Industry Company (ITA) were the two most active stocks here, with more than two million shares traded in each code.
OGC increased by 1.4 per cent to close at VND7,300 per share, while ITA rose 1.3 per cent to end at VND7,800 each.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also gained 0.36 per cent to finish at 82.71 points, with the market value reaching VND363.1 billion ($17 million).
KLF Joint Venture Global Investment Co (KLF) again dominated the trading here, with more than six million shares being exchanged, but the share price dropped 1.8 per cent to finish at VND10,900 each.
