Stocks rise as blue chips rally

Shares jumped this morning on both exchanges, led by blue chips.

 

On the HCM Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added over 10 points, or 1.86 per cent, to end at 569.42 points.

Large-cap shares were the momentum as many of the top 30 shares by market value and liquidity gained value, pushing the VN30 up 0.93 per cent at 614.11 points.

PV Gas (GAS) were the highest gainers with a rise of 6 per cent to VND106,000 (US$5.02) per share.

Others including Saigon Securities Inc (SSI), Ocean Group (OGC), Hoang Anh Gia Lai Co (HAG) and Phu My Fertiliser (DPM) increased from 1.5 to 5.8 per cent.

Trading was good with nearly 64 million shares, worth VND929 billion ($44 million), being exchanged by the end of the morning.

Real estate FLC Group (FLC) were the most active code on trades of 7.1 million shares, rising 3.64 per cent to stand at VND11,400 per share.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index grew 0.88 per cent to close at 76.52 points.

A total of 45 million shares worth VND444 billion ($21 million) changed hands.

Kim Long Securities Co (KLS) is temporarily leading trade here, with over 6.6 million shares being exchanged at VND12,500 per share, up 6.84 per cent over Friday's closing rate.

The afternoon session will start at 1 pm.
