Doosan heavy machinery to dig its teeth into Lao market

Doosan Infracore is expanding into the Lao heavy machinery market, with the company ready to move plenty of earth to help build a bigger and brighter future for Laos.

In response to the growing demand from the construction and engineering sectors, the company is preparing to claw a section of the Lao market, with its machines set to be distributed exclusively through the Kolao Commercial Vehicle Division.

President of the Commercial Vehicle Division, Mr Kwag Hyo-Gun expressed his certainty that the Doosan machines will help build Laos as a nation for many years into the future.

“I am very confident in the Doosan brand; it is one of the best machinery manufacturers in Korea and other countries such as Russia, China, Vietnam, Algeria and Saudi Arabia,” Mr Kwag said confidently.

For example, he said, over the seven year period from 2004 to 2011 it held the No.1 market share in both China and Vietnam, which underwent major construction booms. It has also held the No.1 share in the Korean market, where it is manufactured, for some 36 years now - from 1977 until the present.

In other words, the Doosan product is very high quality and the company provides first class after-sales service, Mr Kwag asserts. “Even though we are a late comer to the Lao market, we can achieve our goal to become No.1 market leader in 2016,” he said

“In response to the high demand fo r construction equipment due to the many developments in Laos, Kolao decided to partner with Doosan Infracore to enter the Lao market, which continues to grow at a rapid pace, Mr Kw ag explained.

He said initially they have imported a shipment of DX255 LCA excavators to sell to construction companies in Laos and hope that Doosan will soon become a household name and its heavy machinery will be of great benefit to the construction sector in Laos.

“I believe that the Lao construction business will grow very fast; many foreign investors are interested in this market, because Lao has huge potential in terms of infrastructure developments such as road construction, hydropower dams, mining, commercial construction and also the high speed railway,” Mr Kwag said.

The Doosan Group was establis hed in Seoul, Korea some 117 years ago, commencing operations way back in 1896. Since its humble beginnings it has been steadily and consistently growing its business operations, in more recent times becoming one of the t op 10 Korean enterprises in the entire country.

Doosan Infracore took over its former company Daewoo Heavy Industries and Machinery in 2005, at which point its name was changed to the one it has now, which is becoming more famous every day.

It acquired Ingerso ll Rand in 2007, merged and then acquired a Norwegian company Moxy Truck in 2008.

Doosan has been averaging an annual growth rate of 20.8 percent since its takeover of the construction machinery business from Daewoo and its annual turnover has now reached US$6.8 billion.

The company is now equipped with an excellent portfolio and extensive product lines including not only Doosan but also world-class companies such as Bobcat, Tramac, Montabert and Geith.

The products of Doosan Infracore are 100 percent assembled and produced in the Republic of Korea. Its products have been retaining the position of No.1 market share for 36 years since the establishment of Daewoo Heavy Industries and Machinery in 1977 and the company is one of the Global Top 5 in construction machinery manufacturers.

Doosan Infracore aims to enter the Fortune Global 200 in 2020, and Fortune Global 100 in 2030.

Though it is a late comer to the Lao market, Doosan Infracore will guarantee customers' satisfaction by providing them with outstanding warranty conditions of 3 years / 5,000 hours for the DX225 LCA excavator, while for other machinery it will offer a warranty of 2 years / 3,000 hours.

This is far better than any of its other competitors offer, reflecting the company's confidence in the durability, riding quality, and design of its products as well as its efficient parts supply and excellent after-sales-service by highly qualified, specialist Korean engineers and mechanics.

Doosan Infracore occupies the biggest market share in the Vietnamese, Russian and Saudi Arabian markets, and has done for the last seven consecutive years. It is now expanding operations into other countries with promise, countries such as Laos.

On behalf of Doosan Infracore, Kolao will initiate its new construction machinery dealership in earnest, starting from July 2013, something construction companies and project managers have been waiting for.

Considering that Kolao is the biggest and most successful private enterprise in Laos, your business will prosper and succeed with Doosan. Happiness will be with you if you choose Doosan Infracore as your business partner, because their world class machinery will do all the heavy lifting.
