M-Point to open more branches in Vientiane
The M-Point Trading Company is aiming to open another five branches in the capital Vientiane, with a view to providing high quality service and convenience for customers and expand to new areas of the city.
Chief Executive Officer of M-Point Trading Company Mr Phongpaseut Kanlagna told Vientiane Times yesterday that currently M-Point mart in Vientiane has 15 branches providing smart shopping for people in the city but still has further expansion plans.
He said the recognition of the brand is growing throughout Vientiane and its stores are well accepted, so it is time to capitalise on the growing popularity of minimarts and convenience stores.
The capital now experiences traffic problems in many areas, and so people don't want to travel far to do their shopping, meaning local convenience stores are gaining in popularity, Mr Phongpaseut explained.
He said that there should be another five M-Point stores in the capital by the end of this year, but declined to indicate exactly where they will be sited, as this is still subject to negotiations. However, the company will invest its own money to construct the stores, and lease the land on which they are to be built.
The M-Point Company stocks well known quality brands which are available in neighbouring countries, as well as some high quality produce made here in Laos such as milk, yogurt, bread, magazines, drinking waters, rice and souvenir gifts.
It is still looking to further expand its Lao product range, which it hopes to source in the near future, but the products must be of good quality and have attractive packaging which features a barcode, as well as be refundable if expired stock is received.
The M-Point Company has further expansion plans down the track, and in the years to come it aims to open stores in other provinces as well, and build a business presence throughout Laos.
