Trading sluggish on both bourses

Shares reversed last Friday's losses during this morning's session on the HCM City Stock Exchange.

The benchmark VN-Index added 0.25 per cent to 475.71 points. Losers, however, outnumbered gainers by 91-74.

Trading remained sluggish, with just 12.9 million shares changing hands, totalling VND223.8 billion ($10.6 million).

The VN30, which represents the performance of the bourse's leading shares, also rose 0.23 per cent to 538.59 points. The 30 shares tracked by the index was mixed, with 11 declining, 11 others advancing and the rest closing unchanged.

Meanwhile on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, although blue chips helped the HNX30 close in the green, trading of stock generally sent the HNX-Index down 0.1 per cent to reach 58.30 points.

Trading value dropped significantly to VND59.7 billion ($2.8 million) as only 8 million shares were exchanged.

The two stock exchanges will reopen at 1 pm.
