Gainers double losers in HCM City

After a four-day losing streak, shares rebounded during this June 27 mornings session, but market value did not improve.

On the HCM City Stock Exchange, the VN-Index added 0.47 per cent, to end at 421.17 points. The number of gainers doubled the losers.

Some 24.1 million shares changed hands, worth VND441.5 billion (US$21 million).

Of the 30 leading shares in terms of capitalisation and liquidity, only food processor Masan Group (MSN) and construction firm Sudico (SJS) retreated 1 and 0.3 per cent, respectively.

Meanwhile, many others stocks posted gains. Notably, HCM City Infrastructure Investment Co (CII) hit its maximum permitted increase in the session of 5 per cent, helping the VN30 edge up 0.6 per cent to 496.80 points.

Although Sacombank Securities Co (SBS) saw only 1.8 million shares changed hands, it was the most heavily traded stock on the southern bourse.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index dropped suddenly 0.1 per cent in the last minutes of trading to 71.04 points.

Trading was sluggish, reaching a value of just VND187.85 billion ($8.9 million) on a volume of 19.4 million shares.

The market will reopen at 1pm.
