The 2nd International Exhibition and Conference on Modern Railway Technology and Infrastructure Construction Supply Chain in Việt Nam – VRT&CON 2026 is taking place at the Vietnam National Exhibition Centre (VEC) in Hà Nội from October 8 to 10.

With the theme 'Smart Infrastructure and Advanced Materials for Sustainable Railways', the exhibition aims to serve as a connecting platform for regulatory bodies, project owners, contractors, technology firms, manufacturers, and both domestic and international partners. VRT&CON 2026 not only showcases cutting-edge technologies, equipment, and solutions but also fosters dialogue, collaboration, and strategic partnerships to support the development of the railway system.

The exhibition brings together more than 200 domestic and international organisations, corporations, and enterprises, featuring nearly 200 booths across an area of approximately 10,000 sq.m.

The technology exhibitions, thematic seminars, panel discussions and demonstrations focused on five key technology areas: railway infrastructure construction; railway system operation management and optimisation; information, signalling, and safety systems; railway rolling stock technology; and smart-city-integrated station and depot management and operation.

Through these activities, regulatory bodies, experts, enterprises and international partners will showcase, discuss and share advanced technologies and solutions, while fostering collaboration and technology transfer to meet the development needs of Vietnam's railway sector in this new era.

In addition, VRT&CON 2026 will also ramp up trade and investment promotion programmes through B2B matchmaking, VIP networking, press tours, and in-depth working sessions.

Opportunities arising from the wave of railway investment

The exhibition takes place as Việt Nam enters a phase of major investment in railway infrastructure, with a series of large-scale projects being advanced at both national and urban levels.

Notable among these are the North-South high-speed railway project—spanning approximately 1,541 kilometres with a design speed of 350 km/h—and the project to construct the Lào Cai – Hà Nội – Hải Phòng railway line, alongside urban railway networks in Hà Nội and HCM City.

As a participating enterprise in VRT&CON 2026 within the France Pavilion, Lê Đăng Khoa, General Director of Pontech Joint Stock Company (Pontech), said that the exhibition is a valuable opportunity for companies operating in technical consultancy and infrastructure design, like Pontech.

According to Khoa, this scale of investment not only generates significant demand for technical resources to handle project design, coordination, and implementation, but also creates opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises and engineers to gain experience and enhance their expertise right here in the domestic market.

At the event, Pontech Joint Stock Company (Pontech) showcased its specialised structural design consultancy capabilities for railways and infrastructure.

Established in HCM City in 2016, Pontech currently employs over 70 engineers and experts in Việt Nam and France. It has participated in more than 150 domestic and international projects.

Through this exhibition, Pontech aims to flexibly apply its accumulated professional expertise, quality standards, and practical experience to projects in Việt Nam.
