Rural industry fair opens in central Việt Nam

A regional fair showcasing outstanding rural industrial products from central Việt Nam and the Central Highlands region opened in Hà Tĩnh Province on August 21, bringing together more than 180 businesses, cooperatives and production establishments from 25 provinces and cities.

Products on display include outstanding rural industrial products, traditional craft village goods, handicrafts, agricultural produce, processed foods and beverages, consumer goods, supporting industry products, machinery and production equipment.

Hà Tĩnh People’s Committee Deputy Chairman Hồ Huy Thành said the six-day event provided an important platform for promoting products, strengthening supply-demand links and supporting the development of rural industries.

As market requirements become increasingly demanding in terms of quality and sustainability, rural industrial producers need to invest in technological innovation, digital transformation and greener production to improve their competitiveness and build stronger brands, he said.

Đỗ Thị Minh Trâm, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's Agency for Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, rural industrial and handicraft businesses and production establishments have continued to make positive contributions to the economy, underlining the role of industrial promotion programmes in supporting rural industrial development, Trâm added.

The fair, held within the national industrial promotion programme, is intended to help businesses and rural industrial producers promote their products, connect with partners and expand their markets and distribution networks.

It also offers producers an opportunity to learn about new trends, upgrade technology, develop brands, accelerate digital transformation and adopt greener, more energy-efficient and environmentally friendly production methods.
