Tien Ngan Trading Investment Company on Monday inaugurated an agricultural processing plant in Phú Thọ Province and, on the same day, exported its first container of frozen mangoes to South Korea, marking a milestone in the firm's expansion of value-added agricultural exports.
Located in the province's Thống Nhất Ward, the plant is equipped with modern pre-processing, processing, freezing and cold-storage systems that meet international standards for food safety, quality control and product traceability.
The inaugural shipment is expected to create new opportunities for Vietnamese processed fruit exports, particularly in high-value overseas markets.
Speaking at the ceremony, deputy director of the provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment Bùi Duy Linh said the project would help develop the local food processing industry, increase the value of agricultural products and integrate Phú Thọ's produce more deeply into global supply chains.
He said the company has established links with raw material areas, developed products that meet export standards and built strong partnerships with South Korean importers, creating a solid foundation for expanding exports.
The provincial Department of Agriculture and Environment said it would continue working with local authorities and businesses to develop concentrated growing areas, promote safe farming practices, support the issuance and management of growing-area and packing-house codes, and strengthen quality control and product traceability to meet increasingly stringent import requirements.
Tien Ngan director Nguyễn Lê Điệp said the company plans to expand production over the next three to five years while increasing exports of mangoes, sugarcane and other processed agricultural products to traditional markets with stringent requirements, including Russia and Eastern European countries.
To meet international standards, the firm has adopted digital technologies throughout its production chain, including smartphone-based digital production records, digital management of growing areas and traceability systems.
The new plant is expected to strengthen links between farmers and processors, reduce post-harvest losses, create jobs and improve farmers' incomes while enhancing the competitiveness of Vietnamese agricultural products in global markets.
