Local solar producer SolarGATES has announced a strategic partnership with Xiamen Hopergy Photovoltaic Technology Company (Hopergy), a Chinese manufacturer of photovoltaic mounting structures, to introduce Zinc–Aluminum–Magnesium (ZAM) coated steel product solutions to the Vietnamese market.

The agreement promoted SolarGATES, a member of the SolarBK Group ecosystem, as the exclusive distributor in Việt Nam for Hopergy’s ZAM steel product portfolio, including cable trays, rooftop walkways, lifelines and safety systems, installation accessories and structural components.

Under the deal, the two partners will also jointly develop and customise products to meet the specific requirements and operating conditions of solar projects in Việt Nam.

Việt Nam is entering a new phase of rapid solar energy growth, driven by policies encouraging self-consumption solar power systems across industrial, commercial and service sectors.

As installation capacity expands, demand is also increasing for mounting structures, the critical components responsible for load-bearing and weather resistance throughout a project’s life cycle, particularly in industrial rooftop applications and large-scale solar projects.

EPC contractors and industrial investors increasingly require solutions that meet international technical standards while optimising project costs and installation timelines, with the flexibility to adapt to the specific requirements of each site.

According to the agreement, SolarGATES and Hopergy will work closely together to develop and customise ZAM structural solutions based on project requirements in Việt Nam, including configuration, dimensions, thickness and installation methods.

The partnership will be able to combine the design and manufacturing flexibility of a global manufacturer and the local market expertise and technical support capabilities of a SolarBK Group member.

SolarGATES Joint Stock Trading Company and SCG Roof Việt Nam (a member of Siam Cement Group Thailand) have also agreed to distribute solar power equipment, including concrete roof tiles and solar power panels, to families in Việt Nam and around Southeast Asia.

SolarGATES will provide made-in-Việt Nam solar power panels for renewable power from 2kWp (kilowatt photovoltaic) to 10kWp, solar-powered water heaters and solar cells for solar power-generated backpacks, suitcases and umbrellas.

According to European experts, rooftop solar power in Việt Nam could be smoothly integrated into the national grid, especially as the cost of solar power installation in Việt Nam is lower than in many other countries.

The Vietnamese Government has set ambitious targets to install 12GW of solar power by 2030.
