Việt Nam remains strategic manufacturing hub: ofi

Việt Nam is a strategic manufacturing hub for olam food ingredients (ofi) in Asia-Pacific, affirmed Gaurav Patil, country head of ofi Vietnam.

Việt Nam is a strategic manufacturing hub for olam food ingredients (ofi) in Asia-Pacific, affirmed Gaurav Patil, country head of ofi Vietnam.

With a network of seven large modern production facilities across Đồng Nai, Gia Lai, Đắk Lắk and Tây Ninh, ofi – a leading global supplier of food and beverage ingredients – has maintained its position among the top exporters of cashews and pepper in Việt Nam for three consecutive years.

In the coffee category, ofi also affirms its role as one of the leading exporters of both instant and green coffee.

Moving beyond the traditional model of sourcing raw commodities, the company has established a large-scale ecosystem for production and processing, making efforts to transform Vietnamese agricultural products into high-value ingredients.

Over the past years, these ofi’s facilities have supplied millions of Ready-to-Eat (RTE) packs that meet international standards directly to lead retailers across multiple international markets. This focus on value-added processing contributes to greater local economic impact while supporting the positioning of Vietnamese agricultural products in premium global markets.

On Wednesday in HCM city, ofi Vietnam was recognised as one of the top 10 Pioneering Foreign Invested Enterprises (FIEs) in green transition in Việt Nam in 2025-26 at the Golden Dragon Awards.

“This Golden Dragon Award reinforces our confidence to continue investing, turning Việt Nam into a ‘launchpad’ to bring Vietnamese food ingredients further into the global value chain, while aiming to create more resilient farming communities,” said Patil.

The award marks ofi’s first year of participation, securing an immediate spot in this prestigious ranking for foreign-invested enterprises in Việt Nam.

This milestone not only celebrates nearly 30 years of ofi’s presence in Việt Nam but also reaffirms the company’s tangible contributions to the national sustainable agriculture and green economy strategy in a new era.

The company is delivering its greenhouse gas emission reduction roadmap and promoting regenerative agriculture in Việt Nam with tangible results. This approach is closely aligned with the Government's national priorities on climate change and green growth, translating global ambitions into practical, on-the-ground impact.

Aligned with these national directions, the company is focusing its efforts on two key areas in Việt Nam including contributing to net-zero through low-carbon, transparent supply chains and advancing green growth through sustainable agriculture and community development.

In Việt Nam, ofi is also strengthening transparency and traceability across its supply chains through AtSource, its sustainable sourcing solution. The platform enables customers to track product origin, measure carbon footprint, and assess environmental impact using real-time data across the company’s nut, spice and coffee businesses.
