CDC, Haikou Silk Road Academy discuss cooperation in agri, industrial sectors

Deputy Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Board of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CIB/CDC) Nut Unwanara and his colleagues on Wednesday met with a Chinese delegation led by Qiu Wenxu, Vice President of the Haikou Silk Road Academy of Social Sciences to explore investment potential and cooperation in the development of industry and agriculture sectors.

 

Unwanara welcomed the delegation for their visit to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia, especially in the development of the agricultural and industrial sectors, cooperation in overseas direct investment (ODI) between Hainan province and Cambodia, and the procedures for registering qualified investment project (QIP).

He apprised of the potential and most favorable incentive regime for investment activities in the agricultural sector and other priority sectors as stipulated in the Cambodian Law on Investment.

Unwanara committed to continue providing cooperation and support and encouraged the delegation to accelerate the study and implementation of their projects to take shape soon to seize investment opportunities in agricultural and related sectors.

In response, the Haikou Silk Road Academy of Social Sciences delegation appreciated the CDC’s leadership, which always paid attention to supporting and facilitating investors.

They expressed interest in investing in special economic zones, logistics, manufacturing, and the agricultural sector, especially the cultivation and processing of agricultural products.

The visiting delegation affirmed their commitment to working closely with the CDC and relevant parties to promote the success of these cooperation projects.
