As artificial intelligence (AI) reshapes the financial sector, Standard Chartered Bank Việt Nam and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) are joining forces to future-proof talent and strengthen workforce capabilities in the country.

The two organisations recently co-organised a workshop titled AI in Banking – Rethinking the Future of Work in Hà Nội, bringing together industry experts to examine AI’s growing impact on finance and banking. Discussions explored how businesses can invest in people by equipping them with future-ready skills and adaptability amid rapid technological change.

Speakers highlighted AI’s transformative role, from process optimisation and risk management to enhancing customer experience. The discussions also addressed challenges in AI governance, the need for innovation, and the importance of preparing the workforce for new work models.

The overarching message was clear: AI is no longer simply a support tool but a key driver reshaping mindsets, capabilities and ways of working in the digital era.

Nguyễn Thùy Hạnh, chief executive officer and head of Coverage at Standard Chartered Bank Việt Nam, said the AI-focused session reflected the bank’s forward-looking approach to technology and people development.

“At Standard Chartered Việt Nam, success is not only measured by KPIs, but also by how our people adapt, learn and grow together,” she said. “With our human bank philosophy, we place people at the centre of everything we do. Technology is only meaningful when it serves people, making life easier, work more efficient and opportunities more accessible.”

During the event, Standard Chartered Bank Việt Nam was officially accredited as an ACCA Approved Employer – Professional Development, recognising the bank as a leading employer for finance professionals and reaffirming its commitment to comprehensive employee development.

Congratulating the bank, Phạm Quốc Hưng, vice chairman of the ACCA Việt Nam Member Advisory Committee, praised Standard Chartered’s leadership in fostering an enabling environment where talent can thrive, innovate and stay ahead of market changes.

The ACCA Approved Employer status is a prestigious recognition awarded to organisations that meet global standards in training and developing finance professionals. More than 8,000 organisations worldwide and over 60 in Việt Nam currently hold the accreditation.

Standard Chartered and ACCA will continue collaborating on advanced training programmes, capability-building initiatives and opportunities for employees to pursue globally recognised qualifications, contributing to Việt Nam’s integration into global financial trends while nurturing a strong, future-ready professional community.
