A total of 23 Vietnamese companies are attending the SIAL Interfood 2025 International Food and Beverage Exhibition which officially opened on Wednesday in Jakarta, Indonesia.

As one of Southeast Asia’s largest and most influential events in the food, beverage, and hospitality industries, SIAL Interfood has become a vital platform for global business networking and innovation. This year’s event not only connects international enterprises but also stimulates related economic sectors such as catering, logistics, tourism, and local product consumption.

This event brings together more than 1,500 exhibitors from 27 countries and expecting to attract around 90,000 visitors.

Việt Nam has a strong presence at the exhibition with 23 participating companies, including 18 firms from HCM City showcasing their products at the Việt Nam Pavilion. Their key exports on display include coffee, dried nuts, fruit-based beverages, instant noodles, and chocolate.

According to Hồ Thị Quyên, deputy director of the HCM City Investment and Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), the city supports Vietnamese businesses, especially small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), by providing booth funding, facilitating participation procedures, and coordinating a unified pavilion under the Việt Nam national brand identity.

Nguyễn Đức Hưng, chairman of the Napoli Group, a coffee producer already present in the Indonesian market, said the company is focusing on expanding into the Halal segment, which has significant potential in Indonesia. Napoli has registered for Halal certification to better access this market.

Phạm Thế Cường, commercial counsellor of Việt Nam’s Trade Office in Indonesia, said the office invited major supermarket chains, importers’ associations, and chambers of commerce to visit Vietnamese booths and connect directly with exhibitors to enhance trade links.

Vietnamese booths drew strong interest from international distributors and retailers on the opening day. Eric Anggana, representative of Indonesia’s Blueray Cargo, remarked that many Vietnamese products such as dried fruits and chocolate suit Indonesian tastes and have promising market potential.

The SIAL Interfood 2025 exhibition runs until November 15.
