Saigon Co.op launches biggest annual promotion for Vietnamese goods

Saigon Co.op has launched its largest annual promotional programme for Vietnamese products, titled “Proud of Vietnamese Supermarkets”, across its more than 800 retail locations nationwide.

The campaign, now in its 28th year, is Saigon Co.op’s flagship initiative to promote high-quality Vietnamese products and stimulate domestic consumption.

Running from August 28 to September 18, the programme will dedicate prime display areas at Co.opmart, Co.opXtra, Co.op Food, Finelife, Co.opSmile, and Cheers stores to Vietnamese products, together with offering a wide range of special promotions.

In addition, Saigon Co.op will organise food festivals, regional specialty showcases, and livestream sales of select agricultural, seafood, and aquaculture products every weekend at Co.opmart and Co.opXtra stores. These activities aim to bring local products closer to consumers, creating a direct link between producers and shoppers.

In light of provincial and municipal administrative mergers, Saigon Co.op has proactively worked with businesses, cooperatives, government agencies, and local authorities to review its network of branches, stores, and warehouses in line with new boundaries. The goal is to ensure supply chain stability while providing legal support, enhancing branding and product displays, and building a green, safe, and sustainable distribution system for Vietnamese goods.

Nguyễn Ngọc Thắng, deputy general director of Saigon Co.op, said the cooperative has also launched a new version of its online shopping platform, Co.op Online, with a modern interface, improved convenience, real-time promotion updates, and exclusive member benefits. Vietnamese products continue to receive priority placement on the homepage with deep discounts, making them more accessible to consumers via online retail.

A humanitarian highlight of the programme is the “Supporting Children’s Steps Forward” initiative, organised by Saigon Co.op in partnership with Unilever, which will donate 800 essential gift sets to children at SOS Children’s Villages. Meanwhile, the “Growing Up with Co.opmart” drawing contest for children will award dozens of scholarships to young talents at schools in disadvantaged areas.
