Central Retail Việt Nam served up a feast of local pride on Thursday as it kicked off the ‘Pride of Vietnamese Specialities’ 2025 festival at GO! Thăng Long supermarket, spotlighting more than 160 regional delicacies to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day on September 2.

The event drew representatives from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, and Hà Nội’s Department of Industry and Trade, as well as a strong turnout from local residents.

Alongside the display of One Commune, One Product (OCOP) goods, the festival features traditional culinary showcases, live cooking demonstrations and promotional activities.

During the opening ceremony, Central Retail Việt Nam signed strategic cooperation agreements with several suppliers, cooperatives and agricultural enterprises, underlining its continued efforts to boost market access for Vietnamese agricultural products.

The company also introduced three new private labels — ‘Collection’, ‘Viet!Go – Hạnh Phúc’, and ‘Viet Gems’ — while launching three new Community Livelihood Projects in Hòa Bình, Tiền Giang and Yên Bái.

Jose Mestre, Commercial Director of Fresh Food at Central Retail Việt Nam, emphasised that these cooperation agreements and product rollouts reinforced the retailer’s long-term commitment to supporting Vietnamese farmers.

Through its ‘Farm to Fork’ programme, Central Retail works with farmers and cooperatives to provide logistics support via its nationwide distribution centres, alongside food safety initiatives.

Director General of the Domestic Market Development Department under the Ministry of Industry and Trade Trần Hữu Linh emphasised that domestic market development has always been a top priority for ministries and localities.

He noted that a series of policies have been introduced to support and encourage agricultural production, while helping people and small- and medium-sized enterprises improve quality and build product brands.

“The support of distribution systems such as Central Retail Việt Nam plays a vital role in bringing regional specialities closer to consumers, contributing to the branding of Vietnamese agricultural products not only in the domestic market but also abroad. This not only helps improve livelihoods in local communities but also brings the quintessence of Vietnamese produce to international friends,” Linh said.

Following its launch on August 21, the ‘Pride of Vietnamese Specialities’ 2025 festival will be simultaneously held across all GO!, Tops Market and go! supermarkets nationwide until September 10, featuring and promoting more than 160 OCOP and regional speciality products.
