AEON to open first shopping mall in Mekong Delta

AEON Tân An Shopping Centre in Tây Ninh Province, the eighth shopping centre of AEON Group in Việt Nam and its first in the Mekong Delta, is set to open on September 23 and officially launch on October 4, 2025.

Strategically located on Hùng Vương Road, adjacent to National Highway 1A and just one kilometre from the HCM City–Trung Lương Expressway, the centre enjoys a prime location serving not only the local residents but also neighbouring provinces.

At a media conference on Wednesday, Tezuka Daisuke, executive officer, Chief Vietnam Business Officer of AEON (Japan) and General Director of AEON Vietnam, said: “In addition to our large-scale shopping centres, AEON is also focusing on developing medium-sized shopping malls. This allows us to expand our presence not only in large cities but also into smaller markets.”

Covering around 27,000sq.m with about 30 tenants, AEON Tân An is designed to serve residents within a 15-minute drive, meeting their daily lifestyle and shopping needs, he added.

Developed under the concept of a “Daily Community Park”, the centre blends modern design with natural elements to create a green, eco-friendly environment.

The centre will house a wide range of outlets, including the General Merchandise Store AEON Tân An, as well as shops for fashion, sports, books, cafés, restaurants, cinemas and amusement facilities, providing customers with a one-stop shopping and entertainment experience.

Tezuka noted that the project marks a significant step in AEON Group’s accelerated expansion in Việt Nam. The mall is projected to generate nearly 1,000 jobs and boost the province’s economic growth.

He added that Việt Nam has been identified as AEON’s second key hub outside Japan, with the group aiming to triple its scale in the country by 2030.

Over the past decade, the Japanese retailer has invested over US$1.5 billion in Việt Nam.
