Shinhan Life Vietnam launches insurance rider products

The new set of four insurance rider products offers extended insurance benefits from health care to financial protection against risks such as critical illnesses, accidental injury or death.

Shinhan Life Insurance Vietnam Limited Liability Company (Shinhan Life Vietnam) on Monday launched a set of four insurance rider products, including Medical Reimbursement Rider, Waiver of Premium due to Critical Illness Rider, Advanced Critical Illness Insurance product and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Rider.

The new set offers extended insurance benefits from health care to financial protection against risks such as critical illnesses, accidental injury or death.

With the Medical Reimbursement Rider, Shinhan Life Vietnam provides long-term protection up to the age of 75 along with five insurance plans, coverage from Việt Nam to the rest of the world. The product gives customers complete peace of mind with inpatient treatment benefits of up to VNĐ3 billion (US$115,400) per year.

The Advanced Critical Illness Rider improves customer protection against 91 critical illnesses from the early stages, with benefits of up to VNĐ1 billion for two early-stage critical illnesses in two different disease groups.

The Waiver of Premium due to Critical Illness Rider will help customers maintain the validity of the insurance policy when suffering from a critical illness. Meanwhile, the Accidental Death and Dismemberment Rider is a comprehensive protection solution against the risks of injury or death due to accident, with the benefit of paying up to 300 per cent of the sum assured in the event of accidental death.

Shinhan Life Vietnam general director Bae Seung Jun said: "Currently, Shinhan Life Vietnam's two main products, including Shinhan – An Thịnh Universal life insurance product and Shinhan – An Vui endowment product, are still doing a good job of meeting the dual needs of protection and investment (or saving) of customers.

"I believe that these new products with enhanced benefits help customers proactively equip themselves with a protective shield against unforeseen events in life."

According to statistics from Insurance Association Vietnam, by the end of May 2025, the Vietnamese life insurance market recorded positive growth with total insurance premium revenue increasing by 1.5 per cent over the same period last year.
