Prudential Vietnam has new chief executive officer

With over 25 years of experience in the life insurance and financial services industry across Asia, Kwon brings a strong track record of driving growth, operational excellence, and customer-centric innovation.

Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Ltd. (“Prudential Vietnam”) on July 7 announced that Kevin Joong Kwon has officially assumed the role of Chief Executive Officer, following approval from the Ministry of Finance

With over 25 years of experience in the life insurance and financial services industry across Asia, Kwon brings a strong track record of driving growth, operational excellence, and customer-centric innovation.

His appointment underscores Prudential’s renewed commitment to strengthening its presence in Việt Nam from Prudential plc and enhancing its role as a trusted partner for Vietnamese families.

John Cai, Regional CEO said: “Kevin’s appointment marks a new chapter for Prudential Vietnam as we continue to build on our strong foundation here”.

“His proven leadership and deep understanding of the local market will be instrumental as we navigate industry shifts and customer expectations", Cai emphasised.

In his new role, Kwon will lead the execution of Prudential’s strategy in Việt Nam, one of the Prudential plc’s most important growth markets in Asia. His focus will include elevating customer experience, expanding distribution capabilities, and bolstering Prudential’s position as a market role model committed to long-term value creation.

“I am honoured to return to Prudential and to Việt Nam, a country I’ve long admired and worked in,” said Kwon, CEO of Prudential Vietnam.

Kwon began his life insurance career with Prudential and has since held senior roles across multiple markets and top-tier insurers. He brings his extensive expertise in Agency, Bancassurance, Operations, Product & Corporate Strategy.
