Sacombank, VinFast partner to promote EV adoption with preferential financing

Sacombank has partnered with VinFast Vietnam to roll out a preferential loan package for electric vehicle (EV) purchases, offering competitive interest rates, simplified procedures and a fast approval process.

The agreement, signed at the “Joining Forces for a Green Era” event on Thursday, aligns with the Prime Minister’s Directive 20/CT-TTg, which encourages the adoption of environmentally friendly transportation solutions.

Under the scheme, customers purchasing a VinFast electric car can access loans from Sacombank with interest rates starting from just 7.5 per cent per annum for the first 12 months or 8 per cent per annum for the first 24 months. Borrowers can receive financing for up to 80 per cent of the vehicle’s value, with loan terms of up to eight years.

In addition, VinFast will offer interest rate support of 3–4 per cent, significantly easing the financial burden during the early stages of EV ownership.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, a Sacombank representative said: “Sacombank’s partnership with VinFast marks a strategic step in financial product development, reinforcing the bank’s positioning as a driver of sustainable growth.

"It also underscores our strong commitment to working alongside the Government and leading enterprises to realise the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.”

Beyond EV financing, Sacombank has launched a range of credit products and programmes that promote green consumption and production.

The bank recently introduced the Sacombank Visa Platinum O₂, Việt Nam’s first credit card made from recycled ocean plastic, which includes a built-in feature to track carbon emissions from each transaction.

It is also expanding its portfolio of green credit, offering loans in key production sectors and home loans for young buyers with interest rates starting from just 6.5 per cent per annum.

With its mission of “Companionship for Development,” Sacombank plans to deepen its collaboration with VinFast through new offerings, including preferential loans for electric motorbike purchases and initiatives to promote EV adoption in provinces beyond Hà Nội.

At the same time, the bank continues to integrate technology into its products and services, taking the lead in green transition initiatives and promoting sustainable lifestyles in Việt Nam."
