Hòa Phát Group reported steel sales of 5 million tonnes in the first half of 2025 while hot-rolled coil (HRC) hit a new milestone, with quarterly sales surpassing 1.1 million tonnes for the first time — an 18 per cent increase compared to the previous quarter.

Hòa Phát produced 2.5 million tonnes of crude steel in the second quarter, up 10 per cent year-on-year and roughly equivalent to Q1 output.

Sales of HRC, construction and high-quality steel, and billet reached 2.6 million tonnes in the second quarter, marking a 9 per cent increase from Q1 and an 18 per cent rise compared to the same period last year. HRC accounted for over 1.1 million tonnes — the group’s highest-ever quarterly volume. Construction and high-quality steel contributed 1.3 million tonnes, up 7 per cent quarter-on-quarter.

Downstream HRC products also saw notable gains. Sales of galvanised steel and steel pipes reached 110,000 tonnes and 216,000 tonnes respectively, both showing strong growth from the previous quarter.

In the first six months of the year, Hòa Phát produced 5.1 million tonnes of crude steel, up 17 per cent year-on-year. Total sales of HRC, construction and high-quality steel, and billet reached 5 million tonnes, representing a 23 per cent increase from the first half of 2024.

HRC alone contributed 2.2 million tonnes, a year-on-year growth of 42 per cent, while construction and high-quality steel reached 2.5 million tonnes, up 11 per cent. These results have reinforced Hòa Phát’s position as Vietnam’s leading supplier of construction steel, with a market share of 38 per cent.

The company is currently focused on completing and commissioning Blast Furnace No. 6, a key milestone in Phase 2 of its Hòa Phát Dung Quất 2 integrated steel complex, slated for completion this September.

Once operational, Hòa Phát’s total annual steel production capacity will reach 16 million tonnes, including 8.5 million tonnes of hot-rolled coil, enough to fully meet Vietnam’s domestic demand for the product.
