Coca-Cola inaugurates $136 million plant in Tay Ninh
Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam inaugurated a $136 million manufacturing plant at Phu An Thanh Industrial Park (Ben Luc, Tay Ninh province) on July 11, its largest factory so far in Vietnam.

The facility is a milestone in Coca-Cola's 31 years of operations in Vietnam and is the first food and beverage plant to achieve LEED Gold Green Building Certification in the country, marking an important step in Coca-Cola’s sustainability journey.
Speaking at the event, Milly Cheng, CEO of Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam, emphasised that the inauguration of the new plant in Tay Ninh marks a significant milestone in Coca-Cola’s journey in Vietnam.
“This state-of-the-art facility is designed to be a hub where innovation meets sustainability, a testament to our belief in the immense growth potential of this market and our long-term commitment to its future. More than just an investment in infrastructure, it reflects our dedication to sustainable development and our aspiration to make a meaningful difference in the communities we serve across the country,” Cheng said.
Also speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Finance Nguyen Duc Tam stated that Coca-Cola’s decision to build its largest and most advanced factory in Tay Ninh province is not only a strategic move, but also a symbol of the strong connection and cooperation between Vietnam and international businesses.
“This stands as clear evidence of Vietnam’s deep international integration and its attractive investment environment in the new phase of economic development,” Tam emphasised.
Tam also noted that the inauguration of the factory is only the beginning, and that stable operations will face inevitable challenges. However, he expressed confidence that with close guidance from Tây Ninh authorities and Coca-Cola’s strong commitment, the project will succeed and make significant contributions to socioeconomic development.
“Vietnam also hopes Coca-Cola will continue to demonstrate its role as a model foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprise, leading in innovation, green transition, and digital transformation, while working towards the goal of net-zero emissions by 2050. At the same time, the government expects the company to place greater focus on developing the local business ecosystem and to prioritise collaboration with Vietnamese suppliers,” he added.
Nguyen Van Ut, Chairman of Tay Ninh People's Committee, also expressed his optimism that the grand opening of Coca-Cola's new plant.
“It powerfully reflects the strong confidence of the international business community, including investors from the United States and the United Kingdom, in Tay Ninh’s friendly, transparent, and dynamic investment environment," Ut said.
The Tay Ninh facility is the largest among Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam’s three modern production sites, covering an area of 19 hectares. It houses five advanced filling and bottling lines.
As the first food and beverage plant in Vietnam to receive LEED Gold certification for Building Design and Construction, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam demonstrates its ongoing commitment to innovation and more sustainable development.
The facility incorporates advanced technologies to enhance production efficiency and more sustainable design features, such as energy-efficient lighting, optimised space cooling, and advanced heat rejection systems,
The plant is designed to utilise renewable energy sources. This includes a 6MW rooftop solar power system and a 10-ton biomass boiler, which aims to replace traditional diesel and seeks to decrease reliance on energy derived from fossil fuels.
To help manage water resources effectively, the plant has implemented a system that recovers and reuses up to 89 per cent of the water it processes in manufacturing.
The reclaimed water meets production quality standards, helping minimise freshwater usage.
Throughout its 31-year presence in Vietnam, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing its sustainable development strategy, focusing on packaging, water management, and community engagement.
The company also promotes long-term collaborations, being one of the nine founding members of the Packaging Recycling Organization Vietnam (PRO Vietnam) to enhance packaging collection and recycling since 2019, supporting The Ocean Cleanup on the Can Tho River since 2021, and supporting the United Nations Development Program in managing waste and reducing plastic pollution through a $15 million grant from The Coca-Cola Foundation in Vietnam and eight other Asian countries this year.
To help safeguard water resources, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has a strong commitment to water stewardship and is working to use water as efficiently as possible.
Additionally, together with The Coca-Cola Foundation, the company has partnered with the World Wildlife Fund to implement the "Water for Life" project in Tram Chim National Park (Dong Thap province) since 2007, aiming to conserve and restore freshwater resources.
In its community engagement efforts, Coca-Cola Beverages Vietnam has launched numerous initiatives that continuously seek to improve living conditions, and enhance education and livelihoods for local people.
