Cambodia’s trade with ASEAN rises to $7.2 billion in January-May

Cambodia’s trade volume with its fellow ASEAN member states reached $7.2 billion in the first five months of 2025, a 5.5 per cent increase over the same period last year, according to a report released on Monday.

The country exported products worth $2.7 billion to other ASEAN countries during the January-May period this year, a 10 per cent increase year-on-year, while its total imports amounted to $4.5 billion, a 3 per cent increase, according to the report compiled by the Ministry of Commerce.

Cambodia’s trade volume with ASEAN accounted for 28.2 per cent of the country’s total trade volume during the cited period, the report stated.

Cambodia’s top five trading partners in ASEAN were Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia, according to the report.

ASEAN comprises Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated at a recent Cambodia-ASEAN business summit that ASEAN has established itself as a beacon of stability and prosperity, with its immense potential underscored by its status as the world’s fifth-largest economy.

He added that the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement has further solidified ASEAN’s unwavering commitment to deepen regional integration and foster mutually beneficial economic and trade relations.
