Vietnamese citizens can officially register digital signature certificates through the VNeID application and VCB Digibank, as part of a pilot programme to enhance secure digital interactions in both public and private sectors from May 22.

This initiative is built on the centralised remote digital signing platform developed by the Ministry of Public Security’s Department for Administrative Management of Social Order (C06), in co-ordination with digital signature providers and industry partners such as banks and healthcare institutions.

According to Colonel Ngô Như Cường, deputy director of C06, the project demonstrates effective collaboration between Government agencies and technology providers.

"“The deployment of this remote signing portal reflects strong cooperation across sectors, with the shared goal of building a safe, transparent, and people-centred digital society,” he said.

The solution supports the implementation of Decision No 06/QĐ-TTg, which requires all digital transactions and electronic contracts to be verified and legally signed. It also helps minimise fraud risks and improve the efficiency of administrative and commercial procedures.

Vietcombank has become the first commercial bank to connect its digital banking system with the platform. Through the latest version of the VCB Digibank app, users can register a digital signature in just a few minutes and use it for transactions such as loan applications and disbursements.

“A secure and verified digital identity is essential for trustworthy digital transactions. “We are proud to lead in providing paperless banking services aligned with the country’s digital transformation goals,” said Phùng Nguyễn Hải Yến, deputy CEO of Vietcombank.

The system has so far connected with five public digital signature providers, with expansion ongoing.
