Minister Thang said that the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance (MoF) is currently deploying many large-scale, nationwide applications, including information systems at level four among five security levels (from low to high).

Security solutions have been deployed by information system management units in compliance with legal regulations and instructions from competent authorities. However, many cybersecurity solutions currently in use are nearing the end of their product life cycle and need to be upgraded and replaced. New cybersecurity solutions that apply advanced technical technologies, such as AI and big data, need to be researched and applied to enhance cybersecurity.

The minister said, "From 2025-2030, the MoF plans to implement major digital transformation across the entire financial sector, and build a unified overall design for digital infrastructure, digital applications, and digital data, while ensuring network security.

The minister added that the MoF has a large number of units, so the demand for IT applications is also great. This is an opportunity for the MoF and Palo Alto Networks to expand cooperation on specific projects with the common goal of bringing benefits to both sides. Moreover, products and services that ensure network security and safety for the MoF will serve state management and individuals and businesses nationwide.

"Opportunities are opening up for Palo Alto to participate in providing network security and safety products and services for the MoF in line with the provisions of Vietnamese law," the minister emphasised.

Simon Green thanked Minister Thang and hoped that his working trip to Vietnam, especially to the MoF, would be the foundation for cooperation with ministries, agencies, and the government of Vietnam.

He committed to providing the Vietnamese market with the most modern and latest products in security, especially for the MoF through ETC Technology System JSC, contributing to the trade balance between Vietnam and the US.

"With experience in cooperating with some countries such as Japan and Australia, Palo Alto Networks can completely share with the MoF the best solutions, ensuring the construction of a network security system for tax, customs, treasury, and statistics agencies," Green said.

Thang said that close cooperation between Palo Alto Networks and the MoF would continue to be the foundation to achieve Vietnam's sustainable development goals.
