Cambodia, U.S. set date for bilateral trade talks
Negotiations on a bilateral trade agreement between Cambodia and the United States are scheduled to take place on May 14–15, 2025, in Washington, D.C., according to a Friday announcement by the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit.
The announcement stated that on Friday morning, Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and Cham Nimul, Minister of Commerce (MoC), led the Ad Hoc Cambodia-U.S. Bilateral Relations Coordination Working Group via virtual conference to meet with the United States Trade Representative (USTR), led by Sarah Ellerman, Assistant USTR for Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
“The discussion focused on the work progress and the preparation for the upcoming bilateral negotiations, which is due to take place on 14-15 May 2025 in Washington, D.C,” read the announcement.
It added that the Government of Cambodia, led by Hun Manet, Prime Minister will continue to cooperate closely with the United States of America to achieve a mutually beneficial trade and investment relationship.
