The Việt Nam - Korea Business Club in Hải Phòng (VKBC), along with over 30 enterprises operating in different sectors, including banking, mechanical manufacturing, trade, media and tourism, organised its first trade and investment promotion programme in the South Korean market this week.
This initiative yielded promising results, paving the way for stronger connectivity between the two markets, with bilateral trade volume reaching US$86.7 billion in 2024.
As part of the business trip, on April 1, the VKBC signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Seoul Veterans Association. The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the South Korean military, leaders of the Việt Nam-Korea Friendship Association in Hải Phòng and tourism sector organisations.
"I hope to receive support and cooperation from the Seoul Veterans Association in connecting Korean businesses with Hải Phòng for investment, trade promotion and labour force linkage, especially highly educated Vietnamese professionals," Nguyễn Thị Minh Hà, Chairwoman of VKBC, said.
Lee Byung-moo, Chairman of the Seoul Veterans Association, highly appreciated the proactive spirit and cooperative approach of Vietnamese businesses.
He affirmed that the MOU signing was not only a trade partnership but also an opportunity to promote cultural exchange and strengthen bilateral friendship, bringing about a win-win relationship.
At the event, two VKBC member companies, 5S Media and Koji Travel, also signed MOUs with the Seoul Veterans Association.
On March 28, VKBC and the Hải Phòng Women Entrepreneurs Association signed a cooperation agreement with the Wonju Branch of the Korean Women Entrepreneurs Association.
The signing focuses on mutual support in import-export activities, product promotion and bilateral distribution expansion between members of the two sides.
The delegation also visited shopping centres, retail points and Korean enterprises specialising in ginseng and high-tech agricultural products to learn from their production, marketing and sales practices.
Following this successful first promotion mission of 2025, marked by five MOU signings, VKBC is developing detailed follow-up collaboration plans based on the signed agreements. The club is also preparing for upcoming key promotion programmes between Hải Phòng and South Korea.
