​Nearly 200 Vietnamese entrepreneurs arrive in US for networking

A private jet arranged by Vietnamese lender HDBank, with nearly 200 Vietnamese entrepreneurs on board, arrived in the U.S. on Friday evening (Vietnam time), marking the beginning of a series of business networking activities.

The flight is expected to strengthen trade and investment cooperation between Vietnam and the U.S., initiating a series of activities aimed at exploring opportunities and promoting trade-investment collaboration between the two economies.

The flight gathered representatives from Vietnam's business community across various sectors, including finance-banking, aviation, energy, technology, and import-export.

The U.S. is currently one of Vietnam’s largest trade and investment partners. Many Vietnamese businesses are enhancing their presence in the U.S. market through strategic partnerships in aviation, hi-tech, energy, and financial services.

Last month alone, businesses from both countries signed numerous trade agreements valued at over US$90 billion, with the dealsworth more than $50 billion expected to be implemented from this year, focusing on aircraft procurement, aviation services, oil and gas exploration, and refined petrochemical product imports.

During this trip, the Vietnamese entrepreneurs expect to access more specific cooperation opportunities in supply chains, digital finance, and green transformation.

A representative of HDBank confirmed that the bank will continue to expand connections with the international financial and investment ecosystem, contributing to bridging Vietnamese businesses and entrepreneurs to develop further in the global market.

In 2024, Vietnamese companies, such as Vingroup, FPT, Vietjet, SOVICO Group, and HDBank, worked directly with major American corporations like Boeing, GE, Microsoft, AWS, Google, Apple, and NVIDIA, with the total cooperation valuereaching billions of U.S. dollars. Some agreements have already been officially realized.

Notably, several projects in the fields of technology and telecommunications are being pushed forward, including a cooperation plan between Vietnamese businesses and SpaceX to apply satellite Internet services in the aviation, banking, and consumer ecosystems in Vietnam.

Tech giant FPT Corporation has also signed a strategic partnership with U.S. chip giant NVIDIA to develop artificial intelligence (AI) and cloud computing solutions and invest $200 million in an AI factory using NVIDIA’s technology.

Meanwhile, air carrier Vietjet’s cooperation agreements with American partners have exceeded $50 billion.

The Vietnamese business community has actively expanded strategic partnerships with international partners, contributing practically to promoting bilateral economic relations and enhancing Vietnam’s position in the global arena.

These efforts are opening up new development opportunities and affirming the increasingly prominent role of Vietnamese businesses in the global value chain.
