The United States and Cambodia recently started tariff talks at a virtual conference between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, Commerce Minister Cham Nimul, and US Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Lee Greer.
This meeting was held in response to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet’s letter to President Donald Trump in the first week of this month expressing Cambodia’s good faith in engaging in a trade negotiation with the United States.
Domestic media outlets reported that both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment cooperation and emphasised their commitment to strengthening it, with particular attention given to resolving tariff-related issues.
