Ministry of Tourism, China’s CMG agrees to promote tourism through news programmes
The Ministry of Tourism and the Cambodia-China Friendship Radio of China Media Group (CMG) have agreed to collaborate in organising numerous new programmes to promote Cambodia-China tourism in the upcoming year.
The agreement was reached in a meeting on April 3 between Huot Hak, Minister of Tourism and Xu Xiaoxia, Director General of Cambodia-China Friendship Radio, and her colleagues.
In the meeting, both sides discussed the progress of organising new programmes aimed at promoting the political, social, and security situation, which is peaceful and stable, as well as highlighting excellent investment opportunities and diverse tourism destinations in Cambodia.
The goal is to reach out to the Chinese people and tourists, encouraging them to travel and invest in the tourism sector, with hopes of increasing investment in this area in the coming year.
The Minister has recently said that Cambodia is projected to welcome a significant number of Chinese tourists in 2025, thanks to the close ties between the two countries and the Kingdom’s attractive tourist destinations.
Huot Hak highlighted Cambodia’s key attractions, including the iconic Angkor Archaeological Park, pristine coastal areas recognised among the world’s most beautiful bays, the expansive mangrove forests, and the biodiverse Tonle Sap Lake.
In 2024, Cambodia welcomed 848,952 Chinese visitors, representing a 55% increase from the previous year. China emerged as the third-largest source of foreign tourists for the Kingdom, followed by Thailand and Vietnam.
