This is a crowning achievement for the Pullman brand in Vietnam, and the first flagship hotel for Hai Phong, marking a significant step forward in the city’s tourism branding and helping elevate Hai Phong as the City of Royal Poinciana.

A new standard for tourism in Hai Phong

A flagship hotel must meet rigorous standards in terms of modern facilities, five-star service, and a forward-thinking approach to new tourism trends, particularly in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) sector.

The Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel is poised to become the premier destination for this growing market, especially as demand for business travel continues to rise.

Le Anh Quang, standing vice-chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee, noted that the city currently boasts 551 accommodation establishments, with the Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel being the seventh five-star hotel.

“The operation of this hotel will enhance Hai Phong’s tourism services, attracting high-end offerings that integrate conference and seminar facilities,” Quang remarked.

More than just a place to stay, flagship hotels play a pivotal role in raising the profile of their destinations, promoting sustainable tourism and generating long-term benefits for the local community.

Bui Thanh Tu, marketing director at BestPrice, believed that such hotels help promote Vietnam’s image globally while fostering healthy competition within the tourism industry.

“For instance, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi has helped position the capital’s brand with its unique cultural identity and history,” Tu pointed out.

Cuisine – A distinctive highlight of the Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel

Cuisine is a key element contributing to the Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel’s role as a flagship hotel.

The city has built a distinct tourism brand with its 'food tour' experiences -- street food tours combined with train travel -- which have proven popular with many visitors.

Xavier Cappelut, vice-president of operations for Accor’s Premium, midscale and economy division in Vietnam, the Philippines, and the Maldives, stated that Hai Phong is one of the group’s strategic destinations in its Asia expansion plans.

“The city is attracting a growing number of tourists, from business travelers to leisure visitors,” he observed.

According to Cappelut, the Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel not only capitalizes on the appeal of street food, but offers a diverse and upscale culinary experience that caters to international and domestic tourists.

In 2024, Hai Phong welcomed over 9.1 million visitors.

The city’s tourism industry aims to serve 10 million visitors in 2025, with the Pullman Hai Phong Grand Hotel expected to play a significant role in this growth.
