His official visit to Vietnam, which runs through Friday, includes discussions with Party General Secretary To Lam, State President Luong Cuong, and National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

During their talks, Lam described Vietnam’s relationship with Kyrgyzstan as a valuable asset nurtured through decades of cooperation.

He acknowledged progress in political, diplomatic, and economic ties but noted that untapped potential remained.

He called for expanded collaboration, particularly through the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement, which includes Kyrgyzstan as a member.

Both sides also highlighted security and defense cooperation as a priority. They discussed ways to strengthen connectivity in air, rail, and logistics to better link Vietnam and Southeast Asia with Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia.

Economic relations were a key focus of Kasymaliev’s meeting with President Cuong.

While bilateral trade has grown, Cuong pointed out that it remains modest relative to the two countries’ economic capacities.

The Vietnamese state leader urged closer coordination in trade, investment, energy, and mining and called for Kyrgyz support for ASEAN's and Vietnam’s position on maritime disputes in the East Vietnam Sea, aligning with international law, including the UN Charter and the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea.

At his meeting with National Assembly Chairman Man, PM Kasymaliev emphasized the importance of strengthening legislative cooperation.

The two sides agreed to expand parliamentary exchanges and collaborate in inter-parliamentary forums.

The Kyrgyz leader also expressed interest in learning from Vietnam’s development experience and proposed deeper cooperation in conservation efforts for mountainous regions.

He invited Vietnam to participate in international mountain conferences hosted by Kyrgyzstan.

PM Kasymaliev extended formal invitations for President Cuong and PM Pham Minh Chinh to visit Kyrgyzstan.

He and PM Chinh also witnessed the signing of three agreements on education, justice, and aviation, marking another step in strengthening bilateral ties.
