On Monday, a Seongdong District delegation, led by District Mayor Chong Won O, visited Tuy Hoa City for discussions aimed at deepening cooperation.

Since establishing friendly relations in February 2012, the two localities have maintained regular exchanges.

Most recently, in September 2024, a Tuy Hoa City delegation visited Seongdong District to further strengthen their partnership.

Following that visit, Seongdong District sent two business executives to explore partnership opportunities for importing oceanic tuna, a Tuy Hoa specialty highly sought after in the South Korean market.

At the meeting, Mayor Chong expressed high regard for Tuy Hoa City's development.

He noted that through his four visits to the coastal city, he saw clear transformation and growth.

The mayor conveyed his hope that the two localities would continue to strengthen their cooperative relationship for the foreseeable future.

Bui Thanh Toan, secretary of the Tuy Hoa Party Committee, shared, "We hope the district mayor will serve as a bridge to facilitate investment from Seongdong District enterprises, especially in seafood exports, particularly for Tuy Hoa's oceanic tuna products entering the South Korean market."

He added that the partnership would also support Tuy Hoa in developing education, tourism, and building a smart city in the future, contributing to enhanced bilateral relations.

Cao Dinh Huy, chairman of the Tuy Hoa People's Committee, expressed his desire for Seongdong District to establish specific cooperation frameworks, such as continued support for the Tuy Hoa-Seongdong Friendship Kindergarten in Ward 9, Tuy Hoa City.

Huy proposed that Seongdong District support Tuy Hoa City in researching and developing a science and technology experience center to enhance education for local schools and community visitors.

He also sought assistance in facilitating tuna exports from Tuy Hoa to businesses in Seongdong District and in sharing expertise on smart city development and implementation.

On Tuesday, the Seongdong delegation was scheduled to visit Hong Ngoc Co., Ltd. to observe tuna processing procedures and gain insight into the advantages of Vietnam’s domestic industry.
