Da Nang promotes wedding tourism in India

Authorities and enterprises in Da Nang City, central Vietnam promoted its typical tourism products, including wedding, MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), and golf tourism, during an international travel show in India from February 19 to 21, according to the Da Nang Department of Tourism.

SATTE 2025, a leading travel show in South Asia, held at the India Expo Mart in Greater Noida, India, attracted more than 50,000 attendees, 1,800 exhibitors, and over 1,000 buyers from more than 120 countries and territories.

According to Huynh Thi Huong Lan, deputy director of the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center, Da Nang actively promoted its appeal, especially for MICE, golf, and wedding tourism.

Da Nang tourism authorities and companies presented many activities that impressed buyers, such as traditional ao dai (Vietnam's traditional long gown) performances, Vietnamese coffee experiences, and giving souvenirs.

The city also connected with airlines to strengthen partnerships and promote direct flights between India and Da Nang.

Da Nang authorities and enterprises met with wedding tourism organizations and wedding event organizers to kick off the Da Nang wedding tourism 2025 program.

Da Nang City has become a venue for many wedding parties of ultra-wealthy people from India.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, India has become one of the countries with the highest growth in tourist numbers to Vietnam.

With many cultural similarities, Indians have prioritized Vietnam as their favorite tourist destination. Indian visitors currently rank fourth in the top 10 international source markets for Da Nang’s tourism.

In 2024, a major textile corporation from India brought its staff to Da Nang for travel.

The Vietnamese coastal city welcomed over 222,000 Indian visitors last year, accounting for 5.3 percent of international tourists to the city and nearly half of the total number of Indian visitors to Vietnam.

The total number of Indian visitors to Da Nang increased more than 13.5 times compared to 2019, the peak of Vietnam’s tourism before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Da Nang is considered an unmissable destination on a trip to Vietnam, even though direct flights between Da Nang and major Indian cities have not yet been resumed.
