At a press briefing to introduce the International AI-Semiconductor Conference 2025 (AISC 2025), Huy said AISC 2025 is an important international event on the combination of AI and semiconductors.

It will provide an opportunity to access breakthrough information and affirm Vietnam's role in the global semiconductor and AI value chain.

Speaking at the press briefing, Nguyen Duc Tam, Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment, affirmed that the development of science, technology, and innovation would be the focus and primary growth driver of the economy in the coming years.

The Politburo has issued a resolution on the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, further emphasizing that these are key factors for the country’s socio-economic development.

Tam added that Vietnam is focusing on promoting digital transformation, green transition, and the development of science, technology, and innovation to create breakthroughs in productivity, quality, and competitiveness, with the semiconductor and AI industries playing a pivotal role.

Christopher Nguyen, founder of Aitomatic, which is a co-organizer of AISC 2025, said the event would mark an important turning point in the development of AI and semiconductor technology.

The event will gather the world’s leading innovators to introduce real breakthroughs in AI and semiconductors.

Huy from NIC noted with the goal of taking advantage of this opportunity to accelerate the development of AI and semiconductors domestically, the NIC has been implementing activities to promote international cooperation in the development and application of technology to form an innovation ecosystem in AI and semiconductors.

AISC is one of the activities that NIC is co-organizing to realize this goal.

Applying AI to improving labor efficiency

AISC 2025 is held with the support of strategic partners, such as IBM, VPBank, Panasonic, Fulbright University Vietnam, BeGroup, and many others.

Nguyen Hong Trung, a representative from VPBank, highlighted that Vietnam has a unique opportunity to become a regional leader in AI and semiconductors.

He emphasized that AI is not only a catalyst for economic growth but also a key factor in determining national competitiveness.

By making strategic investments in AI, Vietnam can improve labor productivity, drive innovation in critical sectors such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, and logistics, attract high-quality investments, cultivate a skilled workforce, and elevate its global standing.

According to Trung, if Vietnam takes advantage of this opportunity, it could become an innovation hub, playing an important role in the global technology supply chain.

Trinh Khac Hue, CEO of semiconductor company Qorvo Vietnam, claimed that this conference would bring together many global companies in the semiconductor and AI sectors.

This will be a chance to connect international experience with domestic human resources to promote the development of Vietnam’s semiconductor industry.

Currently, Qorvo is collaborating with NIC to train semiconductor engineers to meet American standards, and human resources will be a key factor in the semiconductor development strategy that Vietnam is vigorously implementing.

AISC 2025, organized by NIC in cooperation with the U.S.’s Aitomatic, will take place in Hanoi and Da Nang from March 12 to 16, with three main activities.

Workshops will be held between March 12 and 13 to focus on AI technology and its applications in semiconductor chip design, production, and usage.

On March 14, a forum on trends and opportunities for Vietnam to participate in the semiconductor and AI industry value chain will take place, with participation from government leaders and private businesses.

The day will also witness the signing of memoranda of understanding for cooperation in AI and semiconductors as well as the announcement of the 2025 innovation challenge, a national project to build a Vietnamese language database for open-source codes, a collaboration between NIC, NVIDIA, Meta, AI for Vietnam, and Aitomatic.

Global senior leadership networking activities, roundtable discussions, specialized workshops, and field surveys in Da Nang are scheduled for March 15.
