Five Vietnamese billionaires make the Forbes 2025 list

The number of Vietnamese billionaires in US dollars has one fewer name on the richest list, down to five in early 2025, Forbes has announced. 

The list features Việt Nam's most notable billionaires, including Vingroup Chairman Phạm Nhật Vượng, VietJet Air Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Phương Thảo, Hòa Phát Chairman Trần Đình Long, Techcombank Chairman Hồ Hùng Anh, and Thaco Chairman Trần Bá Dương. 

Phạm Nhật Vượng remains the nation’s wealthiest individual over the past 15 years, with assets valued at US$4.1 billion as of January 23, securing the 839th position globally. Nguyễn Thị Phương Thảo, the sole Vietnamese female billionaire, holds $2.8 billion in assets, ranking her 1,213th worldwide.

Hòa Phát Chairman Trần Đình Long is listed with a net worth of $2.4 billion, ranking 1,410th globally. Meanwhile, Techcombank Chairman Hồ Hùng Anh has assets totalling $1.8 billion, placing him 1,843rd. Completing the list, Thaco Chairman Trần Bá Dương reports a net worth of $1.3 billion, earning him the 2,419th spot globally.

Nguyễn Đăng Quang, Chairman of Masan, has exited Forbes’ billionaire list as his net worth has fallen below the $1 billion threshold. Quang first made his debut on the global billionaire list in 2019 with an estimated net worth of $1.3 billion. Over the years, he was featured three times, with his wealth peaking at $1.9 billion according to Forbes' estimates.
