Nearly 70 trade-related administrative procedures to be removed, simplified
The Ministry of Industry and Trade on Tuesday proposed to the Government that 69 business conditions and administrative procedures under their jurisdiction can be either cut completely or simplified next year.

The proposal was a response to the Government’s order, issued as Decree 1 and 2 in January, which aims to loosen state management of trade activities for 2025 so that Việt Nam’s business environment will improve and businesses can thrive.
The 69 procedures were proposed after a thorough review, accounting for 10.75 per cent of the total procedures under the ministry’s jurisdiction (642).
Businesses in the import-export area will likely see the highest number of administrative procedures reduced (19), followed by those in 'light' industries such as alcohol and tobacco businesses (five conditions and 12 procedures), electricity (10 conditions), automobile (eight conditions), chemistry (six procedures), industrial explosives (four procedures), gas and fuel (two conditions) and food safety (one condition).
Competition management authorities are also likely to see one condition and one procedure reduced for their activities.
The ministry has also proposed to either remove or simplify 22 legal documents related to trade management.
Their proposals await the Government's comments until September 10.
