The models and local students at the show introduced ‘ao dai’ (traditional Vietnamese long gown) and modern outfits made of silk originating in the province’s Bao Loc City.
These outfits, part of the collections by seven famous fashion designers including Minh Hanh, Cao Duy, and Cong Huan, feature popular destinations and landmarks in Da Lat, such as the Da Lat railway station, the Da Lat College of Pedagogy, Lam Vien Square, and signature flowers of the city, among others.
The silk fashion show showcased the synergy between Da Lat and Bao Loc in promoting local specialties to both domestic and international visitors, said Da Lat City chairman Dang Quang Tu.
The event was meant to highlight Da Lat as not only a city of music and art but also a city with a rich heritage in the years to come, the chairman added.
