Long An, RoK enterprises explore cooperation opportunities

Enterprises from the southern province of Long An and the Republic of Korea (RoK) on 23 October joined an investment promotion workshop in Seoul.

Speaking at the event, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Nguyễn Văn Được, said Long An had signed cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding on economic, cultural, and social development cooperation with South Korean localities, including South Chungcheong Province, North Jeolla, and Yangsan City of South Gyeongsang Province.

The province wished and would be ready to cooperate with South Korean investors in fields such as high technology, supporting industries, manufacturing and processing, automobile assembly, automobile component production, smart ecological urban areas development, seaport services, import-export services, logistics, renewable energy, agricultural product export, high-tech agriculture, and high-tech agriculture models combined with eco-tourism.

Meanwhile, South Korean businesses expressed their interest in investment opportunities in Long An Province and briefed participants on their strengths and areas of interest as well as their plans to expand investment cooperation in Việt Nam and Long An Province.

Currently, South Korean investors have 207 projects in the province, with a combined investment capital of over US$960 million, accounting for 9 per cent of the province's total foreign direct investment (FDI), ranking second in the number of projects and third in terms of investment capital.

Long An Province is among the ten localities with the biggest FDI attraction in Việt Nam.
