Share advance on oil and fertiliser stocks

Shares advances on Monday morning, propped up by positive performances from oil and fertiliser stocks.

 

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange, the VN-Index increased 0.49 per cent to 1,341.39 points.

Liquidity was modest with 437 million shares worth a combined VNĐ13 trillion traded on the southern bourse.

Market breadth was positive with 219 gaining stocks and 172 losers.

The VN30-Index lost 0.11 per cent this morning to 1,440.25 points. Of the VN30 basket, 17 stocks slid while 12 rose and one stayed flat.

Fertiliser stocks recorded big gains with gainers such as DAP - VINACHEM JSC (DDV), Lâm Thao Fertilizers And Chemicals JSC (LAS), Petro Viet Nam Ca Mau Fertilizer JSC (DCM) and Đức Giang Chemicals Group JSC (DGC).

The oil sector had a good trading session, strongly supporting the overall market. Gainers in the group included PetroVietnam Gas JSC (GAS), PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Services Corporation (PVD), PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PVS) and PetroVietnam Power Corporation (POW).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index edged up 0.35 to 357.71 points.
