TAR maintenance and repair of Nam Con Son 1 gas pipeline is carried out every five years to ensure the system’s absolute reliability and safety. According to the agreed plan between PV GAS and partners in the Nam Con Son gas pipeline chain, the 2021 TAR maintenance and repair took place continuously from September 1-5 at the Long Hai valve station, the Nam Con Son Gas Processing Plant, and the Phu My gas distribution center located in Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province. During this turnaround, the Nam Con Son Gas Processing Plant suspended gas processing and transporting.
Specifically, the 2021 TAR maintenance project completed all 50 work packages with 113 jobs. At the Nam Con Son Gas Processing Plant, the project accomplished special maintenance and inspection of torch poles, replaced batteries for two main power storage devices, and maintained and inspected the factory's control system. Three of the 50 work packages were carried out on the torch at a height of over 80 meters with support of professional contractors and special equipment.

During this turnaround, specialists checked, maintained and repaired all control systems and technological lines. The successful maintenance and repair is attributed to NCSP’s careful preparation and close cooperation with partners in the project’s implementation and the pandemic’s control.
NCSP started preparing for the implementation of the complex project in October 2020. The project was a major challenge for NCSP in the context of the increasingly complicated Covid-19 pandemic, necessitating detailed plans and scenarios to ensure continuous, safe production and trading activities and meet Covid-19 control regulations.
More than 150 workers participating in 2021 TAR maintenance and repair were assigned to work, eat and sleep on-site according to the “three-on-the-spot” solution and the “one route, two destinations” solution (arrange one transportation route between accommodations and the workplace). They were all tested for Covid-19 and strictly followed the Ministry of Health’s 5K message – khau trang (face masks), khu khuan (disinfection), khoang cach (distancing), khong tu tap (no gatherings), and khai bao y te (health declarations) – and PV GAS’s regulations on pandemic control.
